FundyBot Jr (“the bot”) is the custom Discord bot for one community server, Fundy’s Discord or Something (“Fundycord”). It is run by the Fundycord staff team and is not available in any other server. This policy explains what the bot collects about members, why, and what you can do about it.
- Never sold
- No advertising
- Never used to train AI
- Deleted when you ask
What the bot collects
The bot only stores what it needs for its features. Almost everything is tied to your Discord user ID.
Levels and activity
- Your XP, level and prestige tier, and when you last earned XP (for the XP cooldown).
- How many messages you sent each week that earned XP, for weekly top chatter. This is a count only; the messages themselves are not stored.
Boots trading cards and treats
- The cards you own, drops you caught, packs you opened, gifts and trades you made, and battles you played (including wins and losses).
- Your treats balance, the rewards that added to it, and your daily chat streak.
- How many times you gave or received a
/pet, and whether you opted out of pets.
Birthdays (only if you set one)
-
The day and month you entered with
/birthday set. The bot never asks for your birth year.
Community features
-
Suggestions you post with
/suggest(the text you wrote) and votes on suggestions. - Giveaways you entered.
- Starboard entries: which messages were starred and how many stars they got. The starred message itself is reposted in the starboard channel, but its text is not stored by the bot.
Moderation
- Warnings, timeouts, bans and temporary bans, with the reason and the moderator who issued them.
- Notes staff have written about members.
- A moderation log posted in a staff-only channel.
Modmail
- When you message the bot to contact staff, your messages and staff replies (the text, plus links to any attachments) are stored as a ticket transcript so staff can refer back to it.
- Whether you are blocked from using modmail.
How messages are used
To run its features, the bot reads messages in the server as they are sent. It uses them to:
- remove known scam or phishing links and unwanted server invites (automod);
- post edited and deleted messages to a staff-only log channel;
- repost highly-starred messages to the starboard;
- react to images in the art channel;
- award XP and daily treats for chatting, and count down to the next Boots drop.
Apart from modmail transcripts and suggestions you submit, the bot does not store the content of your messages. Messages logged or reposted to channels are kept by Discord in those channels, like any other message.
The bot does not collect your online status or activities, voice activity, or anything from your DMs other than messages you send to the bot itself.
Who can see it
-
Other members can see what the bot shows publicly: levels and leaderboards, card
collections and leaderboards, battles, suggestions and giveaways. Birthdays appear in the birthday
announcement and in
/birthday upcoming. - Staff can see moderation records, staff notes, the moderation and message logs, and modmail transcripts.
- Your data is never sold, never used for advertising, and never used to train AI models.
Where it is stored and who processes it
- The bot runs on a server hosted by DigitalOcean, which also stores the database backups.
- Discord processes everything that passes through Discord, under its own Privacy Policy.
- The bot downloads public lists of scam links from GitHub to power automod. No member data is sent to GitHub.
- Card images are served from Fundy’s content delivery network. They contain no member data.
How long it is kept
- Data is kept for as long as the bot runs in the server, so that your levels, cards and treats are still there when you come back.
- Leaving the server doesn’t delete your data automatically. Ask if you want it removed (see below).
- Database backups are made daily and kept for 14 days, then deleted.
Your choices and rights
- Birthdays: remove yours at any time with
/birthday remove. - Pets: opt out with
/pet optout. - A copy, or deletion: send the bot a DM (this opens a modmail ticket) and ask. Staff will send you a copy of your data (moderators’ internal notes are not included), or delete it. Deletion removes your levels, cards and treats for good. Staff may keep moderation records where needed to keep the server safe, for example a record of a ban.
Children
Discord requires users to be at least 13 (or older where local law says so). The bot is only for members of the server who meet Discord’s requirements.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date, and important changes will be announced in the server.
